The app basically clones the controls on the physical anemometer, which is useful. It also records data in real-time (actually there is a second or two latency/delay for the app to present the data as shown on the actual anemometer screen). Data sampling seems to be one sample per second. There's theoretically an option to change this but of selected the app crashes. Same for the other two options at the bottom of the screen. That's disappointing/annoying

I bought this off Amazon for last week's storm and had many problems saving data. Seems to crash when the readings are over 500 samples and or when you switch apps. Also, every button on the right side menu causes it to crash. Going to try a few things and clean up files on my phone and update you after tonight's coming storm. Expecting wind gusts over 100km/hr which should challenge the stated maximum! Thanks. Jared Canadian Prairie Storms

Worked well the first few times. Now it sincs with my phone but the app display info from the meter does not change.

I installed this app on my Samsung S5 Mini to use with the HoldPeak HP-866B-APP anemometer. It seems to work really well. Following the HP866B-APP instructions I powered up the HP866B-APP. I then fired up the app. Android asked if the app should be allowed to enable Bluetooth, I said OK. After 5-10 seconds the start button on the app changed from disabled to enabled. Once the app's start button is pressed data starts to accumulate in the app. When connected, a green LED glows inside the left thru-hole of the HP866B-APP. Restarting the app and/or the unit seems to help if the connection is taking too long. Unlike a lot of apps, this app doesn't require too many permissions, just location, and permission to enable Bluetooth. Seems quite nice so far. It seems like a lot of people here bought the HP-866B thinking it was the HP-866B-APP, the APP version is the only one with "Connect to Phone" ticked on its specifications (specs for all models were clearly shown on the box).

Previous reviews are wrong to state it won't pair with HP-866B. Eventually I found it does if you allow access to storage via app manager and turn on location

App crashes when going to settings and selecting "Time off" or "Data Sampling" or "About Us" On Android 8.0
