About this app

Hello, welcome to the Akili Health app.
This App is a clinical tool on mobile and computer platforms designed to be used for
mental wellness by mental health professionals (psychiatrist, therapist) and recipients of
mental health care in monitoring treatment progress through the users feedback.
This app is premised on the fact that situations impact our thoughts, emotions and
consequently how we respond to those situations. Positive responses results in positive
outcomes while negative responses result in negative outcomes.
Once a user subscribes to the app and opens an account, he or she is then able to record
thoughts, emotions, sleep patterns, experiences and concerns on their medication,
counseling, the existing problem and coping style on the app. Then once the user finishes
recording the information on the app they command the system to save it on the platform.
The user can then share this information with their mental health professional in real time
in soft or hard copy in pdf format.
The report is useful in empowering and motivating the user by creating self-awareness,
self-assessment and progress monitoring. To the mental health professional, it assists in
establishing a therapeutic alliance with the user, enhancing better assessment, monitoring,
planning and providing evidence based treatment.
This app can be used by users undergoing medical treatment only, users undergoing
psychotherapy only, users undergoing both medical treatment as well as psychotherapy
and users interested in monitoring their daily progress but not in any form of treatment.
This app is not a substitute or an alternative treatment but a tool to enhance treatment.
Therefore, for best outcome it is advisable for the user to regularly record and/or consult
a mental heath expert.
