About this app

Healthcare professionals must be armed with tactics to safely intervene when they encounter a person in crisis, whether inside or outside the clinic. This course presents four scenarios in which a learner will encounter individuals who are potentially suicidal, agitated and violent, having a panic attack, or psychotic. Learners will be encouraged to utilize "SEAT" guidelines to identify risk factors and then use intervention strategies to help the individuals in crisis.

As they move through the four scenarios, learners will:
(1) Learn the do's and don'ts of helping a person in crisis
(2) Practice intervention and communication in a safe setting
(3) Receive immediate feedback on their course of action

Learners are encouraged to revisit the course regularly to review content and refresh their knowledge.
