Diabetes Management Index (DMI) is a simple test which has been developed by the Lifespan Specialist team to assess how well you are managing your diabetes.
The prevalence of diabetes in India is second largest in the world so it is time for people to start taking better control of their blood glucose levels. A “Sugar Survey” done by the Association of Physicians shows 9 out of 10 People with Uncontrolled Diabetes believe their Blood Sugar is actually Under Control. 54% of respondents experienced at least one complication because of poor blood sugar control. Non-compliance of diet, medication or exercise is cited as the top three reasons by respondents and caregivers for not effectively managing diabetes.* This highlights the need for better diabetes management to help people with diabetes live healthier lives.
This 2 minute test will assess and analyse and suggest ways to better manage your blood sugar. The test has been adapted from Diabetes Self Management Questionnaire (DSMQ)- Health Qual Life Outcomes 2013: 11: 138 to suit Indian patients.
