Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing weCare on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

WeCARE is designed to be a peer to peer tool that can be used to provide communication and support to individuals in suicide prevention by integrating technology and proven military tactics.

KEY FEATURES
Single button operation, GPS locator (Coming soon) and Cognitive Function Restoration techniques. Users have the ability to build your own squad, send alerts and send & receive messages. Users are able to use the following functions.
Radio Check: Button that will send out an alert to everyone in the squad the user has created reminding them to check - in. The alert message may be customized by the squad leader.
Yellow signal: This feature alerts other members of the squad that the user is mildly struggling with an issue. The members of the squad will have 30 minutes to respond to the member who “signaled”. Users will have the option to send a message up to 150 characters.
Red signal: Red feature is designed to alert the members of the squad that the user is in crisis and needs immediate assistance. The members of the squad will have 5 minutes to respond to the emergency alert.
Resources: Suicide hotline numbers and grounding techniques show on screen.
*Messages between users will be automatically deleted in 15 days
