Mix some me time! Find sleep and relaxation easier with Lightning Bug, an ambience and white noise mixer for Android powered devices. Lightning Bug features a library of almost 200 sound loops and samples ranging from the natural peace of rain storms and ocean waves, to pure white noise, city trains, meditation bells, acoustic and electronic instruments, and down-tempo break beats.


Lightning Bug also includes many soothing backgrounds and sound visualizations. It even has a stylish, customizable digital clock with alarm, a great replacement for your bedside alarm clock!

Having a problem with sounds and icons disappearing?
The original version of Lightning Bug stored files to a generic folder on your SD card. But in the last year or so various anti-virus and disk utility apps have determined this type of storage is suspect and, in some cases, will automatically delete the contents of Lightning Bug's content folder. So, in our latest release, 2.9.8.1 as of this writing, we moved Lightning Bug's folder into protected app storage on your SD. This will prevent anti-virus and disk utility apps from deleting your icons and sounds.

This means that if you're sounds and icons were already gone before installing 2.9.8.1, they will still be missing. The 2.9.8.1 update will prevent your sounds and icons from going missing again, but unfortunately you'll have to re-install your plugins one more time. We're very sorry for the inconvenience!

Local Weather has been removed. Because Lightning Bug's main purpose is not to provide you with local weather, we removed this feature to keep Lightning Bug compliant with Google Play. If you have questions, please contact support@lightningbug.com.

App Permissions

Allows an application to broadcast sticky intents.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to disable the keyguard if it is not secure.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows an application to modify global audio settings.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
