This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Heart Trace on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

Heart Trace 2 - now available
Heart Trace 2 is now available on the play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magic09.hearttrace). Heart Trace will continue to be available for the forseeable future but will not be receiving regular updates.

To migrate to Heart Trace 2:
• Backup your readings - sync to Google Fit or export to CSV.
• Uninstall Heart Trace.
• Install Heart Trace 2.
• Import your Google Fit readings or import from CSV.

This version of Heart Trace is for all Android versions up to and including Android 7,

Heart Trace automatically checks your heart rate at regular intervals via your Android Wear smartwatch and then syncs this data with Google Fit. You can view your heart rate by the day, hour or minute or as a daily summary.

Android Wear smartwatch with heart rate sensor
This app requires an Android Wear smartwatch with a heart rate sensor. You will also need to connect to your Google Fit account to enable syncing of heart rate readings. Heart rate reading frequency and accuracy can be configured but are ultimately dependant on your Android Wear smartwatch heart rate sensor.
