The app fails to do the fundamental thing it is supposed to, automatically monitor your heart rate from your wearable device. Measurements are super inconsistent often leaving several hours or even days long gaps in the log, which I find strange because I can sometimes see my watch's green monitoring light activating on my wrist but no actual reading will be recorded what so ever. It is a shame because the app itself is really great packed with a lot of features, all of which free of charge!

The application is good, it's actually better than 1st party heart rate app. On my TicWatch Pro 4G. I was using Facer and 1st party heart rate. With 24h tracking with 10 mins sample interval. My watch battery down to 20-30% at the end of the day. Then I switch to this app, and using a watch face that allow me to config widget. With 5 mins sample interval. My battery stay at 65-70% at the end of the day. Definitely gonna make a donation. Thanks for making such good app for free.

It still needs work, sometimes it doesn't sync, and sometimes it doesn't record heart rate, but works well and consistently enough with minimal battery drain. TicWatch Pro, 20190527, tracking consistency is getting better

Seems to break after I remove/put on my watch. Auto monitoring either doesn't restart, or when it does it drops to only monitoring every 30 minutes, even though I have 2 minutes selected in the app

I love this app. I wanted to be able to track my heart rate constantly. This does that and also charts my heart rate even minute by minute. Well made great features and easy to use.

it was good when it worked, now it often goes days without a reading

About this app

Heart Trace automatically checks your heart rate at regular intervals via your Android Wear smartwatch and syncs heart rate data with Google Fit. You can view your heart rate by the day, hour or minute or as a daily summary.

WearOS (Android Wear) smartwatch with heart rate sensor
This app requires an Android Wear smartwatch with a heart rate sensor. You will also need to connect to your Google Fit account to enable syncing of heart rate readings. Heart rate reading frequency and accuracy can be configured but are ultimately dependant on your Android Wear smartwatch heart rate sensor.

A word from the developer
I'm a single developer who created this app for fun in my spare time because I wanted my Android Wear smart watch to regularly take my heart rate (can't believe this feature still isn't in Google Fit!). I then went on to become a Google Associate Developer (again in my spare time) and further develop the app. This app has no commercial backing and is still maintained in my (limited) spare time so it can take a while for bugs to be squished and features to be developed and released. Thank you for your support and patience, magic09.
