About this app

"Kapbis VR UFO" is a program for the improving of 3D vision, development of binocular vision with strabismus and amblyopia, consolidation of the results of orthopedic or surgical treatment.
It was developed on the basis of the successful practice of treating amblyopia and strabismus with apparatus KAPBIS-1 (RU 2297812 C1) and implemented using virtual reality glasses.
Exercises are performed in a game form. The general background of the image on the screen is a field that depends on the level of the game. A fixed object appears on the field, which is a game target for the player. Above the target is a mobile object in the form of a UFO, which moves in all directions of the three-dimensional virtual space with the mouse. A distinctive feature of the program is that it contains only stereoscopic signs of depth. This excludes the possibility of performing a task without using the binocular vision mechanism. The gamer’s task is to install the UFO over the target and grab it. The necessary accuracy of the installation increases with the training, which contributes to the development of binocular perception. The result is fixed in the points.
Motion control of UFO is possible in two ways:
1. Use the mouse. To do this, you need to connect a mouse, joystick or gamepad to the smartphone, and place the smartphone in VR glasses. UFO control and target capture are performed by clicking on the corresponding control buttons.
2. By means of small head movements: tilting (turning) the head to the left-right leads to a corresponding UFO shift, the head tilt back and forth moves the UFO deep into the playing space and back. Each attempt is given 15 seconds. The target is captured if it is in the target zone for more than 3 seconds.
