This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Hipster Alert on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. About this app

This is the most stupid app you will ever download.

Hipster Alert warns you if you might be in a hipster neighborhood. It combines user ratings and statistics on nearby businesses to give your current location a "Hipster Alert Level". If the Hipster Alert Level doesn't seem right, you can help correct it by placing your own vote.

The "Hipster Alert Level", has four risk levels represented by colors (partly inspired by the equally useless terrorism risk levels of the Department of Homeland Security).

Green: hipster-free
Yellow: moderate risk of hipsters
Orange: elevated risk of hipsters
Red: dire risk of hipsters

You can also share the "Hipster Alert Level" using your favorite social network. As a bonus for sharing, you get a "Hipster Map" of the area. Be aware that in doing so, you share your location.

As a bonus, there's an about screen in the app with (un-)scientific information about Hipsters.

Rated "Medium Maturity" because the app makes fun of hipsters. No offense is intended. I like hipsters, but I also like to make fun of them.

Note that the statistical model was based on the United States and may be less accurate in other countries. And even in the United States, it's only accurate most of the time.

And yes, this app is very stupid.
