About this app

This application is for use with the iRevo Digital Signage Software running on an Android TV, Android devices and Fire TV devices. The iDS Cast App extends the functionality of the iRevo Digital Signage offering by enabling casting of announcements and emergency messages on a signage display. These announcements and messages can be removed via the App. Furthermore, the App enables casting of photos, videos, music and pdf files from a user’s phone to the signage display. While the content from iDS Cast is displayed, the main Project running on the iDS Player is not disturbed and continuously runs.

This process of local content display enables certain capabilities to ground personnel without exposing them to iDS Author and iDS Manage portals. This makes it easy and secure too. The iDS Cast app requires that the user have an iRevo Digital Signage user account and permission to use the iDS Cast App, as authorized by their iRevo Digital Signage Administrator for the user’s company.

iDS Cast Features:

◦ Emergency Message:
Broadcast an 'Emergency Message' to one or all displays on the LAN. The Emergency Message is prominently displayed as a scrolling ticker across the bottom of the screen. Text color and background color can be selected by the user and the message text can be saved for reuse.

◦ Announce Messages:
Broadcast an announcement to one or all displays on the LAN. The Announcement text can be placed in one of six predefined locations on the TV display. Announcement text and background colors can be selected by the user and text can be saved for reuse. Great for use with restaurant menu display boards and service provider waiting areas such as clinics, etc.

◦ My Pics:
Play photos from a mobile phone to a Digital Signage display.

◦ My Videos:
Play videos from a mobile phone to a Digital Signage display.

◦ My Music:
Play music from a mobile phone to a Digital Signage display.

◦ My Docs:
Cast document files from the mobile phone to a Digital Signage display.

Important Note: The iDS Cast app requires that a user have an iRevo Digital Signage user account and permission to use the iDS Cast App, as authorized by their iRevo Digital Signage Administrator. See the iRevo Digital Signage documentation for more information.

Allows applications to open network sockets.
