If it weren't for the ability to connect all the speakers, I would switch back to Alexa in a heartbeat. In addition to its lackluster (and yet verbose) home assistant, navigating this app can be a baffling ordeal. The user interface is unorganized and contains higher than average dead features. Streaming cuts in and out at times, and if you want to choose a different "relaxing sounds" theme (out of a total of 5...) good luck to you my friend. Please update..

so difficult to use. cannot get Google to play on all our speakers at once. it happened one time, almost by accident. yes, I've followed the directions, say up a group, even used the word suggested by Google to say add blank speaker to the music. nothing! I love my Google home speakers for recipes, music just in one room but getting it to work for when it's supposed to is nothing but difficult. if that voice tells me one more time I don't understand, I think I'm going to throw it out the window.

Pros: Can occasionally see which devices are being used. Can occasionally broadcast to devices. Cons: Can not view or manage alarms on Google nest minis. Can not connect more than one Spotify account. Despite all minis being connected to the same WiFi, the app never allows me to work with them because "needs to be on same WiFi as phone". App is complicated and hard to navigate. Most features are hit and miss.

I don't know if it's the app or the cameras that are an issue, but easily, 75% of the time when I open the app to view one of my cameras, the feed just spins until it tells me the camera is unavailable. I have to close and reopen the app a few times before the image will show. Or, if I get a notification that a car is in the driveway, it's pointless to open the app to see what's there's because it just spins and says unavailable. This was way better when they were just Nest and not Google.

My cameras are constantly having issues recording events or displaying live feed. Live feed is a joke because it just buffers and then tells you to retry. It's not a connectivity issue, we've invested in a robust mesh system. If anything like a break-in were to occur, I wouldn't trust the system to record the event. I've double checked, and my settings are set to record all events and 24/7. But still, my eleven camera system always fails.

Continually degraded performance. Philips Hue bulb worked for years and suddenly stopped working this evening. It's up-to-date and works in the Hue app, but when trying to add the bulb, once it Home attempts to set it up, it just gives "something went wrong" as if that's even remotely helpful. Going to start looking for alternatives as this service is going the way of all Google services: utter garbage.
