About this app
Instant Vitals offers a solution that combines a smartphone app with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a QR code based, secure screening process to provide an advanced health risk assessment for businesses and personal use.
By using advanced AI technology and video signal processing of a person’s upper cheek region of their face, the application is able to detect key measured vital signs that can be used as early warning indicators of health risks. These include Oxygen saturation, Heart rate and Respiratory rate.
These vital signs are combined with answers to a screening questionnaire as well as your temperature (if you are able to measure it), to output a Health Risk Status:
1. Green: Good health as no risk has been assessed
2. Amber: Be cautious, some vital signs are below the recommended level
3. Red: High-risk. Consult a medical professional
4. Critical: Very high-risk. Presenting many symptoms, very high temperature and or key vital signs. Highly recommended to be referred to immediate medical care
Instant Vitals is not a medical or diagnostic product, and does not provide medical advice. The measurements obtained during screening and the resulting health risk status are intended for informational purposes only, and are aimed at promoting general wellness. A medical professional should be consulted for personalised medical advice in order to undergo any treatment or diagnosis.

How does the camera determine the health status?
The app measures vital signs from upper cheek skin regions of the face by processing face-focused video through its proven and patented AI processing. Instant Vitals supports any age, gender and skin colour and runs like any other app on a suitable mobile phone or tablet. The Instant Vitals solution calculates a Health Risk Status from the answers to the symptom questionnaire, the users temperature and the vital signs detected during screening, all of which is encrypted and stored in the Instant Vitals secure cloud service.
During the AI screening process Instant Vitals accesses the mobile devices camera feed in order to determine the users vital signs. No recordings or pictures of the users face are made during this time. Instead, video signal processing of the individuals facial skin regions is performed.
