This app mostly works, but it will routinely cheat you. If you meet all the goals several days in a row, it will tend to lose a few. It does it with such regularity that I am relatively sure that this is an intentional act of fraud on the part of United Healthcare. For example, this week I had 3 days where all three goals were met. Yesterday and today my device shows all 3 goals as met, but the UHC Motion app says that I met no goals for these two days. Hence their cost has decreased by about $6.00. Multiply this by the number of users of this app, and it is clear that UHC is stealing a tidy sum!

Update: App keeps crashing. It won't load anymore. This is after they said they fixed the crashing issue. Also noticed that when it was working, it was not updating correctly and several days I didn't get my activity recorded correctly. Disappointing.

On a consistent basis the app will log me out, I use a complex password so I always need to go back to my password manager to look up. I enabled the fingerprint reader, still same login issues. Why is it so hard to keep a simple app that tracks steps from logging me out? I have lost weeks of data from this issue.

*update* I'm lowering this to 1star. This app shorts steps more than it gets them right. I've been shorted at least $20-$30 in the past couple of months. Good concept...poor execution. App frequently short changes steps. For example, I have 16000 steps today, but the app only credits me with 6000. This happens about once a week. It gets old emailing uhc to fix the issue. Also, approved devices are limited so i find myself having to use a second watch for workouts.

This app is blocked by Google! Whenever I launch it, it asks for my Google account. Once selected it simply stops with a message that the app was blocked by Google because it attempted to access sensitive info on my G-account which I am granting permission by previously allowing it during installation and first launch -Yet, it is still blocked.

App does not automatically sync, must manually sync everyday. About every two weeks I have to contact support to manually put in my activity since it will sync and either show no data or only a portion. Suggest that any users have a secondary app to track data as proof of goal accomplishment since this app isnt functioning properly. Keep contacting support to get your earnings. It defeats the purpose of your health program to complete the goals and not get the rewards.

About this app

NOTE: UnitedHealthcare® offers this wellness program to employers; it may be included with your health plan. Confirm your eligibility by checking with your company’s
HR representative.

It pays to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle.
Simply put, UnitedHealthcare MotionTM 1) gives you three daily walking goals and 2) rewards you financially for achieving them.

Our walking goals are designed to promote health and wellness. Reaching a high daily step count can be important, but there’s more to maximizing the health benefits of walking: Motion’s “FIT” goals are a prescription to move with Frequency, Intensity, and Tenacity every day.

Did you know that even a 1-hour workout may not be enough to reduce health risk factors if the majority of your day is spent sitting? We lose two hours of life for every hour we sit, Dr. James Levine, a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic, writes in his book “Get up!” Let Motion incent you to get up frequently for brief walks every day.

Money may be a good incentive.
UnitedHealthcare Motion gives you the opportunity to earn over $1,000 per plan year for out-of-pocket medical expenses by doing more of what you may already do: walk. You can earn for one, two, or all three goals each day. Earnings are deposited quarterly into an HRA or HSA, as applicable.
