Bought this in March 2015, tried with Galaxy S4 Mini. Did not work - could not find sensor. Fast forward to Aug/15 - had an Android 5 phone, still didn't work. Then I got a Nexus 6P (Marshmallow) in the fall - still didn't work. When I wrote them this last time, however, they told me there had been a battery problem with an old batch of IceDots, and mailed a replacement, which paired and functions without a problem. FINALLY! Very happy now. A belated 5 stars.

I recently got an icedot as I regularly go on mtb rides by myself, and in fairly remote areas. The concept of the device is great, unfortunately this app lets the device down. My main criticism of the app is that it fully disables wifi. This is a pain as when I got home from my ride, I forgot to turn wifi back on and used a heap of my data cap. I don't see why wifi has to be disabled for this device as it only connects to your phone via Bluetooth. Please update this app icedot.

The ice dot doesn't work with my droid turbo, but it wants me to renew my subscription! So therefore it is useless at this time. My friend has one with her iPhone and it works just fine. I'm hoping that soon it will work with more phones so we can all be safe out there.

Doesn't work, never has. Product support keeps saying it's a user hardware issue when clearly it's not. Just read the pile of negative reviews, this product and software is a scam.

Does not work with Android 5.1 on Galaxy S5 in December 2015. This app has not kept up and the hardware is therefore useless.

About this app

The ICEdot App connects with your ICEdot Crash Sensor to monitor for critical forces consistent with head injury while you bike, ski, kayak, or go on an adventure. The sensor uses Bluetooth Low Energy, providing security and long battery life. When the sensor detects critical forces, it triggers the app to sound an alarm and begin the emergency countdown. If not cancelled, the countdown will conclude with the app notifying your pre-designated emergency contacts. They will be notified of your GPS coordinates over SMS text message.

Requires device support of Low Energy Bluetooth
