About this app

Check for dehydration symptoms and rehydrate your child in your own home. The moab app guides you through rehydrating your child (6 months to 18 years) using medically-proven oral rehydration therapy.The app includes a symptom-checker to help measure your child’s dehydration level and guides you through a rehydration management plan tailored to your child. 50 years of scientific evidence (and the WHO) recommend this approach for most children with mild to moderate dehydration.

Common reasons for child dehydration include:
* Stomach bugs (gastroenteritis, infectious diarrhea, and stomach flu)
* Sore throat, colds, and the flu (influenza)
* Exposure to hot weather
* Not drinking well.
The main risk to children from many of these conditions is dehydration. moab can help.

The moab app features:
* Recommendations for age-based fluid types, dosage levels, and time intervals
* Timed guidance on what to do next through the rehydration process
* Instructions for what to do if your child refuses to drink
* Guides you through the steps required if your child vomits during rehydration
* Support for your decisions about how best to rehydrate your child
* An option for rehydration through breastfeeding
* Guidance on when and where to seek medical care
* A summary of age-based rehydration steps for your reference

The moab app is not a substitute for seeking appropriate medical care for your child. The app will help you determine whether your child needs urgent medical care. Do NOT use this app if your child has:
* Not made pee (urine) or wet diapers for 8 hours
* 3 or more vomits in the past hour
* Vomit that is bloody or green
* Bloody or black poop (stool)
* Belly pain that is getting worse
* A chronic medical condition like diabetes or a metabolic disorder
