About this app

Mobile Neurofeedback is a mobile app paired with an electroencephalogram (EEG) headset that receives information about your brain wave activity. It is intended to promote relaxation by helping you train your brain to achieve greater alpha wave power, which is associated with a relaxed and awake mental state. Your average alpha wave power is initially calculated in the first 60 seconds of each session and this is set as your threshold for the session. During the remainder of the session, you will hear a louder sound when your brain’s alpha wave activity indicates you are in a more relaxed state than your session threshold. With regular practice, you can train your brain to more easily achieve a relaxed state, which may help reduce pain.
