Udhiram is a life saving initiative that gives every smartphone user a chance to be a hero by donating blood.

Technology is meant to improve lives. Even with all the advancements in communication, blood-donation remains a slow process. At Crayon’d, we decided to solve this desperate, life-and-death issue at hand.

Udhiram enables anyone to post a need that reaches out instantly to a community of registered donors. Udhiram is a broadcasting and communication platform for the people in need of blood & for the saviours who are willing to donate blood and save lives.

The key features on Udhiram app

Recipient - Each recipient or anyone in need of blood for themselves or for their family member, friend etc. can do the following with Udhiram:

1. Post a need.
2. View accepted donors.
3. One Touch Call feature to reach out to the Donor who has accepted the request and is willing to donate.

Donor: Each donor or a saviour can do the following with Udhiram:

1. View various donation requests in the city.
2. Accept to Donate ⁠— The app intelligently allows the potential donor to accept the relevant requests by cross-verifying the donor’s blood type and the previous donation date.
3. Refer friends or family or co-workers who are eligible to donate.
4. Spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Email or SMS.

Despite the increase in the number of donors, blood remains in short supply during emergencies, mainly due to the lack of information and accessibility.

Udhiram solves it by providing a platform that hosts all pertinent details of blood-related emergencies and makes it available in real-time. We positively believe this application can be an agent of change by effectively connecting the blood donors with the blood recipients.
