I am a massive fan of what this app is trying to do and when it works, it is fantastic. I hope that the rough edges that prevent it from working perfectly might be implemented sometime soon. Those edges though... Firstly, it does not seem to be easily able to pick me up in a bare, white painted corridor or any other situation that I am able to find around the house. I would note that this is for body squats, not with a bar and plates, so that might be better (I will try it and amend this review as necessary, but I really wanted to work on my wall squat form). If this could be improved natively, that would be brilliant. A possible way that I thought could help would be a link to something like a target that I could print, cut out and stick to my hips and knees that the app would recognise in the screen. I thought this might also improve its accuracy in depth measurements as well. Secondly, once it has started, 7/10 times it seems to recognise a random feature of the wall as the person, instead of me, and once it has done this, there seems to be no way to turn it off - some sort of button is needed to reset it once it has started.

Well what I mean by that is once it finally recognizes me it just doesn't squat down with me or once it does it automatically stops and doesn't let me squat.

It's okay but needs to work inside a cage...

Cool idea but app not working in current state. Why not a free test version? Does detect user but asks to stand still. Never starts analysis. Used in well lit area. Different settings does not seem to influence this. Only uses the front camera. Refund window expired while trying to get the app to work

But backcamera would be nice. I already read, that this feauture will come, so I'm looking forward to it :)

With a steady background, this app will track your squat giving real-time feedback and tips on form... counts your reps then gives a final report on each rep. Worth thinking about how to set this up, but once working it is great... already showing me a lean a bit forward.

About this app

Whether you're a beginner learning how to squat, or a hardened lifter looking to polish your technique, Squat! is the app for you!

Squat! is a real-time squat tracking and analysis application.

- Squat! checks your form while you squat, providing verbal tips on how to improve your squats after every rep.
- Squat! will beep as soon as you go below parallel, so you know instantly when you've squatted low enough.
- Squat! counts and scores your reps, giving you a breakdown after every set.

This version has no ads. Try before you buy with the ad-supported version!

Directions:

- Place the phone somewhere still, where it has a clear and undisturbed view of your squatting area.
- Press the start button and walk into view, ensuring the camera can see your whole body.
- Stand still - the app will detect you automatically and beep.
- Squat!
- When you're done, walk out of view. Tracking will automatically stop and display your rep scores.

Squat scores your squats based on the following factors:

- Did you go below parallel?
- Did you lock out?
- Did the bar stay vertically above your feet?
- Did your hips extend at a faster or the same rate as your knees?
- And more!

Challenge yourself to improve your squats! Squat! can check your squat technique with or without a barbell on your back, meaning you can use it to improve your form at the gym or at home. Tell Squat! whether or not you're using weights in settings for more accurate tracking.

Ensure that you use Squat! in a well-illuminated area with minimal changes in lighting.

The application does not currently track squats inside a squat rack, make sure you squat with no obstructions between you and your phone. In the future we hope to support squatting in a rack.
