About this app

BMI (Body Mass Index) - the coefficient showing the ratio of weight in kilograms to the square of height in meters. In imperial units it is ratio of weight in pounds and square of height in inches multiplied by 703. Body mass index is used to assess risk of disease entities associated with overweight and obesity, such as diabetes, heart disease, atherosclerosis. If your BMI is above the specified norms, the risk of these diseases is increased.

BMI categories (according to BMI value):
Less than 15 - starvation (very severely underweight)
15 - 17.5 - severely underweight
17.5 - 18.5 - underweight
18.5 - 25 - normal (BMI at desired level)
25 - 30 - overweight
30 - 35 - Obese Class I (moderately obese)
35 - 40 - Obese Class II (severely obese)
More than 40 - Obese Class III (very severely obese)
BMI is applicable only in adults.
