BeeCalm is a sound mixer that can play up to 6 sounds from our carefully curated database of broadband sounds, instrument snippets, LoFi beats, and more! BeeCalm contains actual sounds recorded by enthusiasts from all around the world – Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. When used in combination with mindfulness meditation and deep breathing, broadband sounds can have a powerful, positive effect on our mood. Daily use of BeeCalm with only 20 minutes of meditation can help to nudge us into our “rest and digest” state (and away from our “fight or flight” state). Authentic sounds can also trigger nostalgia, which helps recalibrate our emotions so we can better face our daily challenges.

The BeeCalm app interface is minimalistic and fully bee themed. Our intuitive design is made with your comfort in mind and to reduce decision-fatigue you might feel scrolling through the maze-like menus in other apps. With BeeCalm it’s simple. You create mixes, adjust volume settings, and save your mixes for later. You can also set a timer to have the sound player stop when you want. If it feels overwhelming to create your own mixes, we also have in-house mixes you can access by tapping on Qi in the upper-left corner of the app. You add sounds to the mixer by pulling up a menu of sounds organized by category. Then you can select up to 6 at a time from the menu. Try out different combinations until you find something you like!

BeeCalm contains all three types of broadband sounds: white noise, pink noise, and brown noise. Empirical studies show that broadband sounds can improve sleep quality for people living in noisy environments by creating a sound barrier that blocks out unwanted or intrusive noises from outside. Parents use sound machines to help keep their children asleep during the day when there might be noises near the child’s sleep area.
