হিজামা (حِجَامَة ) একটি নববী চিকিৎসা ব্যবস্থা। এটি আরবী শব্দ ‘আল-হাজম’ থেকে এসেছে। যার অর্থ চোষা বা টেনে নেওয়া। আধুনিক পরিভাষায় Cupping (কাপিং)। হিজামার মাধ্যমে দূষিত রক্ত (Toxin) বের করা হয়।
এতে শরীরের মাংসপেশী সমূহের রক্ত প্রবাহ দ্রুততর হয়। পেশী, চামড়া, ত্বক ও শরীরের ভিতরের অরগান সমূহের কার্যকারিতা বৃদ্ধি পায়। ফলে শরীর সতেজ ও শক্তিশালী হয়।

হিজামা বা Wet Cupping অতি প্রাচীন চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতি হিসাবে আরব বিশ্বে জনপ্রিয়। এ হিজামা থেরাপী ৩০০০ বৎসরেরও পুরাতন চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতি। মধ্যপ্রাচ্য থেকে উৎপত্তি হ’লেও চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতি হিসাবে চীন, ভারত ও আমেরিকায় বহু পূর্বে থেকেই এটি প্রচলিত ছিল। ১৮ শতক থেকে ইউরোপেও এর প্রচলন রয়েছে। হিজামা বা Cupping Therapy এখন বিশ্বের জনপ্রিয় চিকিতৎসা গুলোর মধ্যে একটি।
