Khi việc chăm sóc chu sinh và sơ sinh đang tiến triển, nhiều trẻ sinh non đang sống sót và được xuất viện từ các đơn vị chăm sóc đặc biệt dành cho trẻ sơ sinh (NICU) để được cha mẹ chăm sóc. Do các vấn đề sức khỏe phức tạp, trẻ sinh non cần được chăm sóc theo dõi kéo dài và đặc biệt sau khi xuất viện. Tuy nhiên, chăm sóc theo dõi cho những em bé có nguy cơ cao như vậy không có sẵn ở hầu hết các LMIC như Việt Nam. Các giải pháp sáng tạo là rất cần thiết để đảm bảo chăm sóc tối ưu và kết quả tốt nhất cho những người sống sót sớm ở những quốc gia này.

E-BabyCare là một nền tảng chăm sóc ảo cho phép phân phối chăm sóc cho trẻ sinh non thông qua giao diện web và ứng dụng điện thoại thông minh, cộng với một trung tâm cuộc gọi. Từ một máy tính hoặc thiết bị di động, các bác sĩ lâm sàng chăm sóc của NICU có thể thực hiện một chuyến thăm ảo, trong khi cha mẹ có thể truy cập từ xa các bác sĩ lâm sàng qua SMS, điện thoại, trò chuyện hoặc hội nghị video. Họ cũng có thể truy cập các hướng dẫn và công cụ để theo dõi sức khỏe của bé con, sàng lọc các biến chứng và nhập dữ liệu sức khỏe của bé con trong cơ sở dữ liệu được nối mạng.

As perinatal and neonatal care are advancing, more preterm babies are surviving and being discharged from neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to be cared for by parents. Due to complicated health problems, premature babies require extended and special follow up care after discharge. However, follow up care for such high-risk babies is not available in most LMICs as Vietnam. Innovative solutions are urgently needed to ensure the optimal care and best outcomes for preterm survivors in these countries.

E-BabyCare is a virtual platform of care that enables care delivery to preterm babies via a web interface and smartphone apps, plus a call center. From a computer or mobile device, NICU care clinicians can make a ‘virtual visit’, while parents can remotely access clinicians via SMS, phone, chat, or video conference. They can also access guidelines and tools for monitoring the baby’s health, screening for complications, and entering baby’s health data in a networked database.
