As reported, this app does, in fact, cause your tv to turn itself on by itself! However, I believe this happens when Alexa gets notifications - we noticed this happen immediately when getting delivery notifications. I've since put the TV on a "do not disturb" mode via the Alexa mobile app, and will see if that fixes it. If not, I may just have to uninstall it.

This app is buggy and incompatible with Sony TVs. Setup worked once a while back, now it just breaks. I was wondering why my TV was coming on in the night with tape over the ir sensor, now I know.

While the app does successfully show my Ring stick up cam and turn the tv on/off on demand, I'm finding that my TV spontaneously turns itself on once or more per day now.

After the set-up is complete, just ask “Alexa, play music on the <TV Name>” or “Show bedroom camera on <TV Name>” and Alexa will play the requested content on the TV.

Please note, if not already, you will need to enable the skills for music providers and Cameras using the Alexa Mobile app. Once the skill is enabled the content is enabled to play on all Alexa supported devices including your TV.
