Trail details are fantastic but the app is flawed. The Explore feature allows you to see where you are and the trails around you - but it loads all the possible trail routes in the area, which takes a lot of loading and rendering when moving the map around (this should be an optional layer on the map) - which can slow and freeze the app. The default zoom feature is also far too wide - so when I get lost on the trails and open the app, the scale of the area displayed is about 60km of terrain - far too wide to see the nearby trails. I have to zoom and pinch every time to find out where I am. Overall I am still very happy with the app and the customer service.

The last upgrade completely changed my view on this app. I used to start recording and it wouldn't pause until I told it to stop. Now if I stop to take a photo or rest to long it pauses itself and you have to go and restart it. I use this to track how many miles I've done and I've already lost some due to the fact that it paused without me knowing. I also feel I am having to stop way too much to make sure it's still recording. Overall the only good thing left about this app is trail finding.

This is an app I really want to like, but it has a poorly designed user interface, and auto zoom behavior when tracking a hike that is extremely painful and has existed in the app for years. This bug is that when you lock the display, then unlock it, the map zooms way out so the hike is a tiny dot, often not even on the displayed map. The iOS app has the same UI, but does not have the auto zoom bug. I will probably not renew my pro subscription because of this.

AllTrails does provide a good service. I did run into issues with my subscription, this was possibly down to two accounts I had. However, even with logging in with correct account, I had some issues. There was resolution: I cancelled subscription, removed the app, cleaned cache and reinstalled the app and re-subscribed. Everything was fine from that moment. The maps are pretty useful and you can add 'layers' with photographs and other useful content to validate, where you are or look for water sources (backpacking) All in all, happy.

Overall, this is a good app. You should install it and give it a shot! The UI is pleasant and functional, lots of great features for a free app. There are GPS issues with the app, so be ready for that. There are some other functional annoyances as well that aren't really "issues" nessarily but hold this back from being a five star app. I've got a lot more I could say but the play store has a 500 character limit. Good app, thank you.

Good app but interface could use some intuitive polishing as some functions are either awkward or illogical. The app gives you a warning that your power saver option may degrade tracking but the degradation is severe, much worse than other similar apps making the tracked info useless ! A major flaw is the phone app : if the profile is set to "keep my account private" and then an attempt is made to share a map, the app tells you that the setting has to be changed and then it goes into a perpetual loop.
