Unlike other apps, it lets you completely customize your times and save your routines, and it manages to keep its UI simple. The only thing I would change is to add beeps to the last 3 seconds of an interval (possibly with the option of disabling voice.

I have tried a few HIIT apps and this is by far the best and easiest to use. The UI is fantastic and the voice prompts are very clear - just what you need towards the end of a long workout on a windy day!

When you say you are giving back to society and making a difference, this is it. Where free means free, not ads. Merci beaucoup. Whoever wants to workout No Excuses!

About this app

There are a lot of quick and dirty HIIT or Tabata apps out there that are full of ads, allow very little customisation, stop timing your workout as soon as you switch the screen off, or have alerts that can't be heard over your music.

HIIT Me is different:

- Drag-and-drop interface for creating any interval-based workout, simple or complex. Want to work hard for 15 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, repeat that 10 times, take a minute's rest and repeat? No problem.

- Built for working out while listening to music. Start your music app, start HIIT Me, put your earphones in and go. The app will read out workout directions just like Google Map reads out road directions.

- Runs in a background service, so it won't stop just because you've decided to read a message.

- Reads out the name of new exercises as they come up - if you want to do pushups, then crunches, then burpees, it will use text-to-speech to read these out to you so you don't forget what you're up to.

- Swish material design

- Ad-free and open source

Please post any bugs to https://github.com/AlexGilleran/HIITMe/issues.

NOTE: Some people have reported problems with hearing no sound - the app uses the media volume rather than the notification volume for sound. So if your music volume is muted, HIIT Me will be too - if you find that you're getting no sound then make sure that you can hear music when you play it, and if that doesn't help then make a post on https://github.com/AlexGilleran/HIITMe/issues/1 with what kind of device you're using :).

The app requires permissions for wake lock (to stop the phone from killing the run when you put it in your pocket) and internet access - at this stage this is only used for crash reporting (if the app crashes a report will be sent to Crashlytics for me to fix).
