The app is neat. It looks a bit like a script kiddie wrote it, with the icons and all, but it gave me the info I needed. Now... Can it also tell me the last time I gave blood? No. Will it let me copy the address from the app? No.

Die App stürzt ab, nachdem man seine PLZ in der Suche eingegeben hat. Eine Verwendung der App ist somit nicht möglich. Sehr schade.

In der neuen Version steht die Kursterminsuche, Wegweiser zu tausenden Kursterminen im DRK und die Kleidercontainer-Suche bereit. Mit der Postleitzahlensuche kommt man an Kurstermine und Containerstandorte, Ansprechpartner sowie Beschreibungen heran. Nun kann ein Anruf oder eine Onlineanmeldung folgen.

Der GPS-Standort hilft bei Bedarf Suchtrupps in Bergen und Wäldern, da die Koordinaten in Länge und Breite durchgegeben werden können. Erkennen von 16 lebensbedrohlichen Situationen und richtig reagieren, das ist das Thema des Kleinen Lebensretters. Er zeigt auch in Bildern die richtigen Maßnahmen, die ein Überleben sichern. Unter Notrufnummern sind die wichtigsten Kontaktnummern für verschiedene Notfallsituationen aufgelistet. Die Meisten kennen die Rufnummern der Polizei 110 und des Euronotrufs 112, viele weitere Nutrufnummern wie der DRK-Flugdienst kommen hinzu. Die Notrufnummern der Rotkreuz-App umfassen Rettungsdienste, regionale Giftnotrufzentralen, Apothekennotruf, Bereitschaftsärzte, Autopannen-Notrufe, Geldkarten-Notrufe und psychologische Notrufnummern. Die Nutzer der Rotkreuz-App haben so die passende Hilfe für jeden Notfall.

Mit der kostenfreien Anwendung kann man Kurstermine in wenigen Schritten anhand der Postleitzahl oder des GPS-Standorts suchen und buchen. Die Trefferliste zeigt alle Kurstermine mit Karte und erleichtert die Kontaktaufnahme per Anruf oder Mail. Auch findet der Nutzer eine Kursbeschreibung und die Angabe der Kurskosten.

Wie bisher gibt „Mein DRK vor Ort“ einen Gesamtüberblick zu allen Dienstleistungen, Einrichtungen und Gemeinschaften des örtlichen Roten Kreuzes.
