About this app

In this app we have provided complete information on infection tetanus. Tetanus is a bacterial infection caused by bacteria Clostridium tetani that affects the nervous system and causes muscles tightness throughout the body. It is also called lockjaw because the infection often causes muscle contractions in the jaw and neck. However, it can eventually spread to other parts of the body.

The Spores of the bacteria Clostridium tetani can be found in dust, dirt, and animal droppings. A person can become infected when these spores enter the bloodstream through a cut or deep wound. These spores then spread to the central nervous system and produce a toxin called tetanospasmin which is a poison that blocks the nerve signals from your spinal cord to your muscles which further leads to severe muscle spasms.

Other common tetanus symptoms are:
* Fast heart rate
* Spasms and stiffness in jaw abdomen chest back and neck
* Difficulty in swallowing
* Fever
* Sweating
* High blood pressure

Treatment of tetanus depends upon the severity of symptoms but can be treated with medications and therapies. Vaccination can prevent tetanus infections, but only if you receive your booster shots on schedule. Proper treatment and cleaning of wounds can also help prevent the infection. If you’re injured outside & injury has made contact with soil, call your doctor and ask about your risk of tetanus.
