About this app

Think you might be in labour? Try this Labour Advisor App from Port Perry Lamaze. It asks you a number of questions about your contractions (if any), the colour of any vaginal discharge (if any), and detail about you water breaking, among others. Based on the answers to these various questions, the Labour Advisor App tells you whether you should head in to the hospital or stay at home, perhaps notifying your doctor or midwife.

Prepared by a Registered Nurse who is also a Lamaze-Certified Childbirth Educator, the decision tree in the app has been provided for over 10 years to pregnant women attending Lamaze prenatal classes at multiple hospitals. While the app advises on when it is safe to stay at home and when a hospital visit is needed, the app is not intended to replace your doctor’s advice.
