A painful infection which is accompanied by cold sore or fever blisters is known as herpes simplex. Usually it is caused by virus and transmitted by contact with the fluids body like saliva, tears, sweat etc, especially in the presence of herpes. There are two types of herpes simplex virus namely HSV 1 and HSV 2 which causes infection.

1. Cold sores around the mouth and the fever is caused by HSV1. Oral sex is responsible for this infection.
2. Small ulcers around the genital areas of women as well as men and painful blisters are caused by HSV2.
3. An infection of herpes is triggered by pregnancy, low immunity system, stress, hormonal imbalance.
4. Infection is spread by person to person by kissing and intimate contacts.

1. Grate a carrot and wrap it in a cloth and apply this paste on the affected areas. It will reduce the pain and the swelling of the blisters.

5. Avoid the intake of smoking, sugar and drinking as it will damage the immune system.
6. Application of the ice on the infected areas curbs the disease to a great extent.
