About this app

MagnificoReader helps you to choose healthy food and drinks by detecting the incorporated additives. This app combines an intelligent magnifying glass for improved readability and a database with comprehensive explanation of the food additive properties and possible hazards. MagnificoReader works autonomously on a smart phone without internet connection and thus protects your privacy.

How to use MagnificoReader:
Open the app and align the pointer with the word to scan. If needed, improve the focus by pushing the left-side button. The usual distance to get the best focus is 10-15 cm. The magnified image of the text appears on the top of the screen. After few seconds the E-code of the detected additive comes out on the screen. Go to a list of possible additives by pushing the right-side button. On the right of each additive a button with symbol will link you to additional information. A button "green apple " shows for additives considered safe; an "orange check mark" - for additives with not fully understood properties or controversial information; a "red cross mark" - for additives considered potentially dangerous from a large number of sources.
