The CAIXA DE REMÉDIOS (Pill Box) is planned to organize your medicines and emit reminders for you to do not forget to use them at the right time. It also reveals, on a simple and fast way, what is your medicine, what dosages exist and much more. To find your medicine, you can directly read the barcode from the package in your hands using the camera from your device, or have a name search. If the full, or correct, name is unavailable, just type a few characters for you to receive a medicine list and then find yours.
The app sets a schedule, guides you through its use, and tries to avoid you from forgetting to use them, and you can also include the people whom you take care – elderly, children in the care of the babysitter or daycare, the forgotten boyfriend and others – because the scheduled reminders are individualized for each person included as a patient. You have options to click if you took the medicine, or postponing if you can’t take the medicine at the moment. To remind people remotely, there is the option to send an automatic SMS to the mobile number recorded in the app, or simply call the person.
It is estimated that more than 50 million Brazilian from all ages are carriers of chronic diseases, which the treatment can’t be interrupted. Brazil is getting older, with an increasing number of elderly that needs help to keep on with the treatment correctly. With this app, you can control and follow your prescription, will have access to important information about the medicines, like the use during pregnancy, anywhere, including the drugstore which you are looking for the medicine. It’s a form to practice the Management of Chronic Patients –MCP – searching for the best adherence to treatment, also known as the English word “compliance”, what is really important and wanted in entities and Patients Association (Diabetes, Dyslipidemia, Alzheimer's and many others).
