About this app

MATCH is an e-health app that helps users to learn to use music in an informed way to support people with dementia. Users complete training modules where they learn about how music impacts our brains and behaviours, and how different types of music and musical activities can be used to support people who are living with dementia.

MATCH training is informed by 15 years of music therapy research from a team of university researchers from Australia, Germany, Norway, Poland and the UK, who have trialled the techniques with family caregivers.
This app will expand understanding about how to effectively use music and empower families to use music as a regular part of daily life with direct benefits for the whole family – watch a demonstration via this link: https://youtu.be/BlYv_yLiDwc

Users can:
- assess their current caregiving needs
- learn how to use music to support people living with dementia in different circumstances
- create personalised playlists based on their needs
- assess the effectiveness of the playlists as they use them in real time

The app is currently in a trial phase – please contact MATCH-project@unimelb.edu.au for more information.
