I've been a subscriber for a year now, and the digital version is just as good as the hard copy. The scrolling is smooth and the app reliable. I haven't had any of the issues mentioned, running the most recent version of jelly bean on Nexus 7. I can't wait to see how the app might tie in the new mental_floss YouTube channel.

I want to give this app a great review because when you actually get to reading the magazine, it is great. The layout is beautiful and easy to navigate. It looks good on my 7" screen (adjustable font sizes would be nice ) and is all together more pleasant to read than the print version. But, before you get to that you have go through the frustratingly bad and lazy app menu interface. Mostly I find it frustrating to have to wait days after I receive my print version before I can read the digital version.

When it was still supported, this app was a great way to read my magazine. I haven't been able to get any issue newer than June 2013, though, so it's much less impressive now.

Not able to enter my print subscription info because it's not showing up. I type and nothing shows up. NEEDS WORK!

I'm writing a review without ever have actually used this app beyond logging in. It's been HOURS while waiting for a single issue to download. First, the actual download is slow, painfully slow. Not only is it slow, but there's no background downloading. This means whenever the screen locks, or you try to use another app while waiting for the issue to download, it stops. It'll resume from where it stopped but the speed isn't increasing. It certainly isn't my connection speed since I downloaded more than 60MB worth of app data in far less time than this 60MB issue is taking. This means in order to actually use it, I have to first unlock Developer Options and then switch on Stay Awake to let the device sit fully awake on charge to let the download finish. This isn't acceptable practice. Sorry, mental_floss. I love the magazine but this app is horribly unfinished.

The first four issues of my subscription loaded and look fine, but now I'm stuck with no new ones. The last two print issues have come and gone, but never showed up in my library.
