I would rather the app open news articles in external browser. But if it's going to open them inside the app, the least you could do is have some ad filtering for intrusive ads! Most news pages are littered with obnoxious ads, videos and pop-ups that often cover up content. It's too much! Further, prevent pages from auto-playing videos like is possible with a regular browser. Stop being so greedy with the ads!! Also, provide a way to filter out news sources that require a subscription!

Lately, only a small portion of a news article appears. What I can see is spread across 4 or 5 screens because of the many intrusive ads. While I begrudgingly accept the ads, it seems like a bug that only a small portion of the articles are loading. Sometimes I have to reopen the article many times to see the content. If I can open the article in a browser, it opens fine. Ads and all. More troublingly, the "news" tailored for me is more clickbait than news.

Filled with ads. Every article I look at through this app is filled with ads, so much so that there is very little screen space that is not covered with ads, where I can actually read the article I came to read. Moreover, most articles also have popup video ads, which also prevent me from reading the article. And, it is very difficult to find the X to close the ads,.without clicking on the ad itself. The situation has only gotten worse over the last year, and I'm not looking at other news apps.

This used to be my favorite app to get and read news. The ability to read news from multiple sources and make your own decisions. Also to see the conflicts between news sources. News media does show major conflicts in what they call facts. Though recently there must have been an update. Now the app keeps reloading and putting me at the top of the page. Once I click on a story and go back; it reloads. Losing my place on the page and have to scroll down again. It's very annoying.

So far, so good. There are some items I find of no interest to me for various reasons and have the option of letting Google know if I so choose. Why 4 stars, not 5? App crashes once in a while and refuses to reopen immediately afterwards. Sometimes takes a few hours before coming back, sometimes takes a few days before reopening. Very annoying, especially if I'm in the middle of a good read. I'll wait to see what happens, then re-edit in a year--either good or bad.

Way too many pop up adds (and growing). Unintuitive interface, with a clear lack of ability to define in any way, the type of news you would like to view. Carefully prevents the ability to choose to not view certain kinds of content, instead forcing you to globally block much broader news categories or nothing. It's either exactly by design or extremely poor engineering, not sure.
