It seems good so far, an interesting app for youths navigating resources in LA County. If they can add option to search by zip code and also allow providers to input info or update contact info - it would be great!

About this app

WIN (What I Need) enables homeless or resource-insecure youth, ages 12-25, to locate 11 types of free supportive services. With the goal of empowering unaccompanied homeless youth to find and connect to the services they know they need to rebuild an independent life, the WIN app offers live connections to hundreds of area programs offering shelter, food, medical care, crisis support, drop-in centers, government benefits, legal counsel, transportation, jobs, education and hotlines. Its searchable directory includes information about providers who offer assistance and services to youth who simply walk in, allowing these vulnerable youth to obtain essential services without prescreening or referral. WIN’s database also features agencies who serve unique populations including foster youth, LGBTQ youth, youth struggling with mental illness, young veterans as well as young victims of assault or sexual violence, sexual exploitation and/or domestic abuse.
Not only does WIN support the ability of homeless youth to seek guidance and supportive programming, it also serves as a valuable resource tool for the community at large. The WIN directory can be an important resource guide for caring individuals who are trying to assist youth who appear to be experiencing homelessness or are in need of supportive services.
At this time, WIN’s directory is able to connect vulnerable or homeless youth to resources and providers in Los Angeles County, CA.
