PRODUCE STANDARDIZATION An African farmer producing Mama-butter has limited access to markets unless the Mama-butter is translated to Shea-butter. Using a customized UNSPSC, all produce is classified, standardized & translated. This helps in better access to markets and information flow. These standardized produce is coupled with other ecosystem products like inputs & services to give an easy and unbroken experience of commerce in agriculture domain.

NETWORK Almost all activities happen within a network of diverse players. Kalgudi's trusted network allows farmers, suppliers, customers, service providers and academia connect and build their own networks.

MARKETPLACE Not just sale of produce but entire ecosystem's marketplace is modelled in Kalgudi. Inputs, services, logistics, warehousing, and information are all tied to the context. Standard lingo and network helps in providing contextual & translated leads that are otherwise not perceived.

BUSINESS Every Kalgudi user has their own set of simple business actions. It could be buy, sale, following a crop-calendar, booking storage, and applying for jobs. This component in Kalgudi is unique to each role. Business transactions are allowed only within network. For example, a farmer selling produce to a wholesaler is a "sale" for one and buy" for the other. On this transaction both parties can communicate in context, make/receive payments, and involve other parties like transporters. Transactions automatically result in simple financial accounting.

SOCIAL Sharing thoughts/videos/articles, QnA, like/dislike, comments & chats happen within the business context. Pure social chat is restricted to within network. All other social activity is moderated prior to publishing to other relevant users.

INFORMATION Context is built based on network, location, and produce. Kalgudi crawls, cures, standardizes and publishes information based on this context. Information is crawled from publicly available sources, sponsored by academia/similar, acquired or user generated. User activity in social, marketplace, and business further strengthens the context and information gets more precise and relevant.

VISIBILITY Public online presence is created based on profile, network, and activity for every user. Dynamic data such as stock levels are presented based on user's transactions. Profiles are optimized and indexed by search engines making every profile discoverable. Not only the users but the entities that they represent like a business, a university, a company, or a NGO program also get their own visibility.

TRUSTRANK Kalgudi assigns a rank for each profile primarily based on the activities on the platform such as network, social contribution, marketplace and business transactions as opposed to their spend on advertisement. This rank is considered for search results, recommendations, moderation, and suggestions.
