As a pro that has been with Thumbtack for several years I have seen them transition and change their policy a handful of times. Each time they change it it seems like they're trying to be more innovative but in fact they're tightening their policy to better suit them and not the merchants. In the beginning they're customer service was top notch and your able to speak to speak to them, and now, you can't! The app has never changed but the company has.

Don't waste your time and money. Definitely not as many leads as they said. The only reason I gave it any stars is because the client's I have gotten from thumbtack have been awesome. However, I will be off this app as soon as I spend the remaining credit on my account. They send me leads (and charge me for them) saying it's an "exact match" when it's definitely not. I wish there was a way to try this app out before I spent so much money on it.

Thumbtack can help you find clients, but I would not use again until I'm desperate for work. When a customer uses the platform to book a service, they choose ONE from the available service providers, but the system prompts them to reach out to 3 others even though they've made their choice on who to hire. All 4 businesses pay for the lead and then Thumbtack offers the service to EVERYBODY in the "opportunities" tab. 90% of the leads I get are bogus. It is terribly expensive.

Huge, unfair rate increases. $20 for a single lead, which is a 250% price increase over last year. Customers are leaving because now they're requiring phone numbers. Contractors are leaving because they're making up for lost revenue by overcharging contractors. Disappointing decisions that spell bad news for Thumbtack. Breaking the backs of your contractors is not a sustainable business strategy.

It is a great place to pick up leads. But it's almost like they are constantly pinging your accounts to see how much money you have in. Every time I make a deposit I get flooded with leads. Even on days I block off. Then they don't refund it, they simply credit your account.

Good to get some leads. Lot's of people that beat around the bush. You are not the only contractor they can contact. Usuañly refund if contact stops messaging back but now they are changing it making customers provide phone numbers so Thumbtack doesn't have to refund non active customers that reach out and change their mind. Might be the final decision for me yo stop using them if I don't get more decent leads. I'd say I have a 40-50% turnaround rate on this app.. everywhere else is about 90%
