Been using the app for two years with ZERO improvement. I am compelled to use it because I am out of the office a lot. It crashes, takes forever to load and does not reflect all entries that I had input using the standard desktop program. I come from a big firm and I can't understand with all the money we pay, the app isn't working.

Does not always work. For some reason it does not gather all the back end data.

The entire star program is just very glitchy and poorly designed.

It seems a bit slow and outdated.

This works except for two significant deficiencies: • The app should allow for fingerprint authentication. Network single-signon passwords can be cumbersome and entry error prone on a mobile app. • Any entry past 6pm (I am in the US Central Time Zone) defaults to next day and I have to correct it each time. The main advantage for using a mobile time and expense app is to be able to report expenses as they occur (i.e., dinner while traveling). This is particularly bothersome because it has been reported to the provider by our firm, yet nothing has been done to fix it.

This is literally the worst app I have ever used in my whole life. I use it only because my company use it to track time. I have to redownload to submit my time if I want to use this app. Worst ever! As an software engineer, I have exhausted every possible excuse to defend this app. I just cannot hate it more.

About this app

Star Mobile Time and Expense Entry enables professional users of the Star Practice Management system to record, review, submit and approve time spent and expenses incurred on client jobs and non-chargeables, using their Android phone.

Users can quickly select clients and jobs from their History of previous time and expense entries or can optionally carry out remote searches on the firm’s Star Practice Management database to find clients and jobs.

The Star Mobile application leverages the rich functionality provided by your firm’s Star Practice Management system.

Contact your firm’s Star support team for the final step to configure Star Mobile to work with your Star Practice Management business data.

Further Star Mobile apps are in development and will be made available over the coming weeks and months.

Star Mobile includes improved authentication via Microsoft ADFS, Microsoft Azure AD and forms-based authentication using the Microsoft Identity framework.
In the Expense module, you can now not only enter and submit your expenses, but also photo and attach your expense receipts to your expense claims. Those with privileges can also approve their own expenses.

If your firm uses Active Directory (AD) for authentication, Star Mobile now works with ADFS 3 and Azure AD to provide secure SSO authentication for users. If you're not using AD, then Star provides user registration and forms-based authentication based on the Microsoft Identity framework.

New features

This new version of Star Mobile Time & Expenses for Android contains no new functionality but complies with the Google Play Store’s new requirements for 64 bit CPU support.
64-bit CPUs deliver faster, richer experiences for 64 bit users. Adding 64-bit support to the app provides performance improvements for 64 bit devices.
