I wanted to take some time to review this app. Hopefully square enix is looking at this. The hoops SQEX makes their user jump through when attempting to restore the token are annoying. If you lost your removal password you're stuck waiting after customer support that only works a dream schedule. I am not happy with the experience related to this application. I wanted to activate 3 new subs this weekend to play with my friends... :(

An update resulted in this app being reset, which locked me out of my account. You can technically remove the OTP requirement if you have the emergency removal password written down, but it shouldn't be necessary in the first place. I will also mirror the complaints that others had regarding usability. Please just allow Google or Duo authenticator to be used in the future. This app is so bad that I'm going to risk having no additional authentication until there's an actual good option.

I have the same problems that most of people do. I don't have access to the app and I don't have my emergency removal password. Don't know what to do to get into my account. Also my steam game is linked to that account and if I want to use a new account, it asks me to buy it again. Horrible system...

It worked amazingly well for an entire year. Then it logged out, which locked me out of my account until I dug up the emergency removal password. If you're going to use this make damn sure you keep that password.

Decided to try playing Final Fantasy XIV again and everytime I tried logging in it said the one time was wrong. Heard an update caused people to be locked out of their accounts and I was dumb and didn't write down the emergency removal password. Lost the character I played for over a year. Sad times.

Permanently locked out of my account now because my phone glass got shattered and I had to send it in for repairs and the App deleted the login data and now wants a security verification code that I no longer have access to due to it also being on the broken phone...well at least ARR and heavenward and now essentially F2P so I don't have to spend another dime on this garbage anymore...only got it to stop the ridiculous resetting passwords Everytime I logon to my desktop or laptop 🙄
