BREAKING NEWS – Get 'Breaking News' as it happens, direct from POLITICO. The amount of breaking news alerts received in a single day depends on the actual news, as it happens. On certain important politically-charged days, such as Primary or Election days, expect more alerts than usual.
NEW APP FEATURES – This is a mechanism that we use sparingly to tell you about important new app features or changes in the app behavior that we believe to be of particular interest.
APP TIPS – This type of notification is where we can send down tips or hints about app usage. Again, we plan to only use this mechanism infrequently.
GENERAL POLITICO ALERTS – This notification type is how we push general POLITICO or app-specific alerts to you, that do not fall under any of the other notification type categories. For instance, we would use this notification type as a way to inform you about special live events (e.g., live streaming or special Election Night coverage). We may also use this type of notification to tell you about high-profile app updates.
★ POLITICO can dynamically deliver additional News, Blogs, Video or other feeds in the future, without requiring an app update.
★ POLITICO content changes several times, every day. The app will automatically check for changes several times every hour, and intelligently download only those changes that are different from the last downloaded content. If you want an immediate update, you can always use the Refresh button in the header.
★ Non-video article content is intelligently cached for offline reading when a network is not convenient.
