I downloaded this app to give my son more options when reading his one book a day during the summer. He quickly went through all the free books of interest to him, so it was time to purchase some leveled readers. That is when the problems began. Soon books simply would not load in the program. Often after trying three to four times, we could get a book to load, but not always. Imagine our frustration! Sometimes the program itself will not open, even after restarting my device. I have sent countless error reports to the company, so they know this is a problem. Additionally, when books do load, it is not uncommon for the text to be illegible. For example, two lines of text may be superimposed. Much lower on my list of complaints is that the voice acting is terrible. A computerized voice would be almost as good as these expressionless recordings. I wish I could return these books and get my money back, but after checking out HMH's website, I am simply overwhelmed by the number and variety of customer service contacts (I can't begin to imagine which would be the right number for me to call) and wonder if spending two hours on the phone is worth US$10.
