Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing EdgeVis Mobile on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

EdgeVis Mobile Encoder for Android is a mobile phone-based EdgeVis encoder using the built-in and external cameras, allowing remote-users to provide situational awareness to control rooms within seconds

EdgeVis Mobile only works in combination with the other components of the Edgevis system. Please do not download this application if you do not have access to an EdgeVis Server version 7.0 or above.

EdgeVis Mobile Encoder allows the user to transmit a live video stream using the camera built into the user's handset along with supported external cameras. Features include:

- Ability to use, and switch between, both front back and external cameras
- Automatic comms-failover between Wi-Fi and cellular (based on handset's standard comms mechanism)
- Ability to configure the video and audio bit-rate, and frame size/dimensions of the encoded stream
- Live GPS location transmitted alongside video stream
- Full-resolution enhancement capability (with adjustable quality level)
- Support for Landscape and Portrait orientation
- Virtual Pan Tilt Zoom (VPTZ) to remotely zoom into the source image
- Ability to continue transmission when the app isn't running and when the phone screen is turned-off
