Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Mwendo on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

This mobile app that allows the passengers to measure/track the speed at which the vehicle is moving at. Once the speed gauge hits 80Km/h and above, it will prompt the user with a dialog to report the vehicle to the nearest NTSA station for them to deploy their officers on the route the vehicle is traveling at.
On the prompted dialog, one will fill the following details:
• Speed: the speed the vehicle is traveling at –will be filled automatically by the device
• Route: the destination of the vehicle and where it’s from.
• Plate Number: the vehicle plate number.
• Vehicle Type: whether it’s a mini-bus, bus, van, truck, motor bike or private cars.
As an addition feature the user can also report other offenses like:
• Loud music.
• Lack of safety belts.
• Vehicle defects.
• Over loading/ over lapping.
• Drunk Driving
At anytime and anywhere users can report an offense using this application. An added advantage of this application is that it enables its users to get traffic status easily, check whether a route is clear or jammed.
