Perfect - in GBP with large characters - gently rotating away clock up the pounds. Though I agree about removing padding zeroes. Perhaps less digits and bigger font?

More dramatic to see the cents wheels spinning like crazy. Also can you put in another digit for millions?

I can envision landscape mode conspicuously left visible for those droning on might get things moving. But to help instill a sense of urgency... how about dollars AND cents? And don't pad the numbers with zeros.
