About this app

RMS physical inventory can be complicated and/or expensive.  The CA-Inventory for RMS app is meant to simplify and improve upon standard RMS inventory techniques.

With CA-Inventory, most any Android phone becomes a sophisticated scanning device.  Generally, hand scanning devices are VERY expensive.  And, they are DUMB.  CA-Inventory allows the user to download the app, scan inventory, see database values, and upload to the RMS data base in real time.

Fewer stock clerks required to count inventory: Very easy to scan barcodes and enter counts right on your phone.  Stock taking goes faster!

Easy to learn: Figure training time for a new inventory clerk to be 10 minutes.

No paper worksheets: No need for paper inventory worksheets of any kind.  Stock clerks can start faster with no time wasted shuffling paper; yet detailed records of their activities are maintained.

Multiple people counting at one time: No limit on how many counters you use.

Allows for Cycle Counting: You can count parts of the store inventory periodically (such as monthly).  Just be sure that you count all locations for any give lookup code.

No need to close the store to do physical inventory: Added features for counting while the store is open and items are being sold. Solves known RMS inventory weaknesses.

Integrates with the RMS Variance reports: The RMS variance report and the RMS process for updating inventory quantities do not change.

Better control of what is counted and who counted what:  The supervisor can review all counts including who counted and where they counted!

Better handling of zero count items: CA-Inventory alerts you to items which are not counted (when RMS has a non-zero quantity).

Better control for items needing recounts: Items needing recounts are identified in RMS. Staff gets list on their phone to complete the recount.

Meticulous history and audit trails: All scans are kept in history for review and troubleshooting including changed entries and deleted entries.

No uploading or downloading: Unlike expensive hand scanners, data uploading or downloading is not required (since the app communicates with the data base in real time).

New features

Added support for barcode supplements and bug fixes for newer versions of Android.
