O surgimento da maçonaria regular no Estado de Roraima se deu com a fundação, no dia 09 de setembro de 1940, da Augusta e Respeitável Loja Simbólica Liberdade e Progresso n° 32, então Jurisdicionada a Grande Loja Maçônica do Estado do Amazonas e Territórios Limítrofes. A partir daí outras 02 (duas) Lojas foram fundadas, a 13 de Maio em Caracaraí e a hoje ARGBLS Sílvio Lofego Botelho nº 03 e no dia 20 de agosto do ano 1981, reuniram-se 55 Irmãos, no Templo da Loja Liberdade e Progresso nº 32, situada à Rua Coronel Pinto nº 396, Centro Boa Vista-RR, e através do Decreto nº 0032/80/83 de 14 de maio de 1981, expedido pela Grande Loja Maçônica do Estado do Amazonas fundarem a Grande Loja Maçônica de Roraima em 20/08/1981. A M∴ R∴ Grande Loja Maçônica de Roraima tem hoje, distribuídos em todo o Estado de Roraima, 13 (treze) Lojas Simbólicas, quatro triângulos maçônicos, e é patrocinadora de duas entidades subsidiárias, a Ordem Internacional DeMolay e a Ordem Internacional das Filhas de Jó.
