O ESPÍRITO SANTO - A TERCEIRA PESSOA

Quando o Senhor Jesus Cristo estava no mundo, Ele era «Emanuel», que, sendo interpretado, quer dizer: «Deus conosco» (Mateus 1: 23). A segunda Pessoa da Trindade Divina tomou Deus visível aos homens. Ele habitou entre eles durante alguns anos, e eles viram a Sua glória.

Não é Este o que chamamos a Segunda Pessoa, mas sim a Terceira Pessoa da Divindade Trina. Não foi preparado um corpo para Ele, como o foi para Cristo (Hebreus 10: 5), pois o Espírito Santo não incarnou.
Ele habita nos corpos dos crentes; estes nossos corpos são os templos, nos quais Ele se manifesta (I Coríntios 6: 19). Tenhamos claramente em mente que o Espírito Santo é, de fato, tão realmente uma Pessoa como o é o Senhor Jesus Cristo. Não O podemos ver, mas a Sua personalidade e a Sua presença conosco são factos inegáveis. Fazemos esta afirmação porque muita gente parece ter a ideia de que o Espírito Santo é apenas uma espécie de influência emanando de Deus e falam d'Ele como se fosse uma coisa. Sem dúvida, Ele exerce uma grande e benéfica influência, mas, em Si, Ele é muito mais do que uma mera influência. Ele dispõe de poder maravilhoso, mas é, em Si, mais do que um poder. Esta verdade é claramente mostrada em João 16: 13,14.
Nestes dois versículos, há sete afirmações que provam, além de toda a dúvida, ser Ele uma Pessoa. Vejamos estas afirmações:

 (4) Ele fala;
