Община Луковит се намира в Ловешка област.Съседни общини са: на изток - Община Угърчин; на запад – Червенобрежката и Романската общини; на юг - Община Ябланица и Тетевен, а на север граничи с Червенобрежката и Долнодъбнишката общини. Районът се намира в Средния Подбалкан. Релефът е хълмисторавнинен, характерен за Дунавската хълмиста равнина. В климатично отношение Луковитската община се намира в умерено-континенталната климатична област. Климатичните фактори се характеризират със стойностни характеристики на Средния климатичен район на Дунавската равнина. Характеризира се със студена зима и горещо лято. Територията попада в Мизийската растителна област. Горскодървесната растителност е съставена предимно от листопадни широколистни гори - чисти и смесени насаждения от блатун, цер, листа, бук и др. Административен център на Общината е гр. Луковит. През града преминава главен шосеен път София - Русе и София - Плевен. През територията на града преминава р. Златна Панега. Тя води началото си от едноименния карстов извор. Община - Луковит се сътои от 12 населени места с територия 454,225 декари, която представлява 11,003 % от територията на Ловешка област Луковит се намира на 171 м надморска височина. Общата територия на общината възлиза на 454 225 дка, от които 221 798 дка е обработваема земя. Земите са разпределени в следния вид: Основните селскостопански култури отглеждани в Общината са царевица, пшеница, ечемик, овес и др. Овощни насаждения от череши и сини сливи също са част от земеделието в Общината.
