About this app

This app is to provide ease of use for navigating important information regarding Davenport West High School. A google analytics was performed on the school website to see which sites and information were accessed the most, in order to determine what would be provided within the app.

The 6 buttons on the homepage are Bell Schedule, Staff Directory, Sports, Calendar, Information, and Campus Portal. These were the six most popular on the Davenport West School website. The problem that we found, is that the school website is too cluttered and can be difficult to navigate on mobile. The resolution to this problem? The WHS App. This app is universal for both parents, staff members, and students.
Using the six main buttons in the app the user can access the following information. The Campus Portal button is a direct link to the campus website, with login availability for ease of access. The Staff Directory has a list of departments in alphabetical order, as well as teacher emails. The Sports section has a list of sports (only shows the list of current season sports), which directs the user to an image of that sport’s meet, or game schedule. Within the School Information section a user can find the school’s address, phone number, and other basic information, which would be particularly useful for parents. The Calendar button has a link to an active calendar posted on the school website. This calendar has a list of all the school events and is updated regularly.

In conclusion, the app provides quick access to relevant school information for students, staff members, and parents.
